Default CEL light came on, need Advice

I have a 96 Ram 2500 5.9L V8 with 190k
My check engine light has been on,
i checked the codes and came up the o2 sensor not sensing lean or rich,
i know i have to replace that but it also came up as OD Solenoid trans circuit failure, but the transmission still shifts fine, the fluid levels are fine as well, not burnt, Is is still necessary to replace the solenoid? Ive dropped alot of money the past couple months in the truck.. ball joints, tie rods, trac bar, alt, and brakes...

if the transmission is shifting fine, including overdrive, i'd leave it alone, other than continue routine fluid and filter changes.

I'ld check for loose wires first, seems to me they're both in tha same section of the body by routing, any chance the wires came disconnected?

many times a trans code will pop up because something is stuck in a valve or solenoid, but it clears itself up later. it has happened to me a few times. unless you notice a constant issue with the trans, id leave it alone.

the O2 code may not accually be an O2 senser, you could be throwing your $190 away but replacing it... on the other hand, you may luck out.

You can get a NGK or Bosch sensor for far less than $190 from O'Reillys or Advance Auto.

$77 plus tax from Advance Auto and less than $70 from O'Reillys. Less than $60 if you want the BWD brand sensor, but mine don't carry that one on hand.

Yup, I believe the OBD II and OBD I sensors are different. 1996 should be the first year for OBD II sensors, although I'd take the old sensor in with ya and compare the electrical plugs, make sure you're getting the right one.

ya, sorry, i deal with a lot of different vehicles. I use $190 as a general amount, some are more, some are less.
