Brake Problems
Tried to search to see if ti was covered yet and no luck so here goes.
The brakes on my '01 are a might tetchy in the mornings for the first little bit. The rears lock up at the slightest touch to the pedal. Was wondering if there is a proportioning valve or somthing of the like that you all might know of that is causing this.

My 96 does the same thing, especially in damp or high humidity weather.
Still have original linings on the rear and no fluid leaks.
When I get new shoes I'll put premium ones on and see if that helps.

Yep I had the same thing with my 96, I had to replace the RWAL C/U under the master cyld. In my case it is a 1996 model year part and a dealer only part. Are you ready for this $700+ tax for a rebuilt from dealer or $1400+tax new from dealer, not installed. It only comes as a kit including master cyld, RWAL c/u and other parts. As I don't like using rebuilt or used parts I went with the new, After the install no more problems. I hope that you can find more options for new parts down in the US. Before I did the RWAL c/u I replaced every thing in the rear diff for parts IE drums, shoes, wheel cyld, springs, RWAL speed sensor, e brake cables.
It is (rear wheel anti lock control unit), it is found under the master brake cyld it is what used to be called the proportional valve. As your truck is 5 years newer than mine it might be (all wheel anti lock control unit).
Ok so I did a quick check to make sure that I am using the rite name for that part, On my receipt it's called rwal c/u in the Haynes bible it is referred to as the rwal valve. If you have a Haynes book it's on page 9-22 figure 14-9 what you see in the figure is what you get from the dealer.
