tuner...
He said with out getting a tuner.
I don't think he wants his truck down for a few days while his PCM is out getting reflashed.
Pcprofixer is having issue's with his PCM.
A PCM change isn't buying a tuner. True, it's a technicality, but it is the only way to rid himself of the death flash. As I said, hypertech would be the cheaper way out. While still being a tuner, it usually doesn't have near the issues that superchips has (Sometimes)
Being that you have OBDI, a Hypertech tuner is about the only option you have except for PCM changes/Flashes.

laramies options are without a tuner and the mopar pcm doesnt require sending out your pcm
Max, I mentioned a hypertech for costs alone. There is two options avaliable to the 96 since it is an OBDI interface. That being so, he can only use a hypertech tuner, get a custom PCM flash, or get a MOPAR performance PCM.

The only real way to get ride of death flash is to get a tuner or like Laramie said is the Mopar performance PCM, 1996 was the first year for the OBDII and SCT is I think the only tuner out that can flash the 1996-1997 trucks.
