those are some frickin bright lights, i'd be interested in those myself as my backup lights are not the greatest, i'd consider it, as for the brake checking conversation going on as well, i haven't seen where you use the emergency brake instead of the normal brake pedal, i like this option myself especially in a 4x4 that sits higher, 9 times out of 10 the person tailgating you is in some jap car, the most that would happen to your truck (if its a 4x4) is a pushed bumper and if they actually went under your truck you'll need a new spare, not sayin that i would slam the e-brake to the floor, i just push on it enough with the brake release pulled so it acts just like your brakes, that causes more panic than them seeing your brake lights, kinda gives them time to react. but hey tasters choice.

not everyone is that smart. something like this would have mounted flush with the back of the bumper or above the bumper or else it would not light up behind you like in the picture.

"so i believe the lights are a safer way of letting someone know that you ain't happy with how close they are."

little tip, most states having rear white lights you can flip on with a switch will get you a ticket if a cop catches you.... In Michigan I have a buddy who will tell you we used to have them all the time. one day a guy was riding too close he hit the switch, guy was drunk lost control of his car. said guy was a cops son. buddy just got done sitting six for attempted murder.

dont hit the brakes, on vehicles like ours hit the four ways. the mind wont have enough time to decipher that it was the four ways if you only let it flash once or twice... if that doesn't work a brake check wouldn't have either.

there is always the downshifting for the people with standard transmissions. i don't know how healthy it would be to down shift an automatic. downshifting will slow your truck down with your brakelights coming on.

you also need torches. torches make bending metal so much easier. especialy when you start trying to bend thicker stuff.

I don't see how flashing the rear lights are any more dangerous then flashing someone with your headlights.

i used an 80 ton brake to bend those. they bent like a piece of aluminum foil pressed with your finger. of course torches are fun if you're cutting thick steel with them, its just cool to see that molten metal goobering all over the place.
