Replacing a fuel pump on gas burner this weekend...checking on a couple of things

So you could change the fuel pressure regulator and that would be considered changing the filter

lblair04 It's not a filter, it's just a screen for larger debris.


bigjohnellinas They are replaceable from the dealer. Not cheap though.

we have one rule on the island most people go by, Dont let the gas go below a 1/4 tank, because then the pump wont overheat and the filters will stay cleaner by not sucking the **** up from the bottom of the tank, so far we never had to replace a fuel pump. people that run their vehicles to the E are replacing their pumps every 5 years or less. there is a lot of crap in those gas stations tanks.
