I also used 2500 cylinders, and it is possible to replace them without removing the shoes.

When I upgraded the wheel cylinders on my truck, I lightly coated the threads of both the hard line and the bleeder screw with anti-seize. I advise that you do the same to prevent this from occurring again, in the future.

Anti seize - check

About the 2500 cylinders. Just use ones for the same year Ram but a 2500? If they still fit the truck. I would prefer a better stopping truck.

Yeah, same truck info but 2500.
They are slightly beefier, fit just fine.
Theres a huge thread about the 2500 cylinder retrofit out there somewhere.

Absolutely, a straight swap, no extra parts or mods needed.

You'll have grabby brakes for certain. I'm constantly making mine bark when performing a quick stop on pavement.

I wouldn't classify mine as "grabby".
Making quick stops on pavement, I wouldn't expect them to be silent.
