Default Need help ASAP, Rear End Question

ok im doing a job for a 03 dakota 4x4 3.9L ok i got a 9.25 axle but it has a 8.25 axle on it...both have the 3.55 gears though, just the ring gear is different. The one on the truck is 10 bolts cover, and the one i got is 12 bolt. the place i got itfrom is 2 hours away and i need to get this done Monday. They are closed tmorrow, and i wont be ableto get itdone Monday if they cant convert.

Will i be able to swap these? its the whole rear axle assembly....Will drive shaft bolt right up?

I know its for a Dakota, but last time i asked a question in the dakota forum it took forever to get a response and since rams run the 9.25 axle i thought i could post here, and because the 2nd gen rammers get right on topics with responses.

Its kind of cluttered how i put it so ill make it easy

Will a 9.25 axle/3.55 gear be able to swap to a truck with a 8.25 axle/3.55 gears without problems/getting new parts?

Are they even the same length? Are the axle tubes the same diameter?

not tonight, we got the truck to the garage im going to work on it in, and we put the rear end in the back of his truck...

but i mean if everything lines up the same IE. Shocks, leaf sprng setting, and driveshaft, it should be good right...may just have the tires sticking out a bit more?

i know the sway bar was the same size....

Crap after more research i found the 9.25 axle has a 31 spline to hub assembly with 5 lug, and the 8.25 is a 29 spline to hub assembly 8 lug...

so i take it its not going to work.....oh no....unless his 8 lug rims will somehow fit on the 5 bolt pattern......
