What's Your Average MPG?
#13
I've mostly gotten about 13.5 when my truck was stock with a leveling kit;
but now it's been increasing with the addition of new mods.
Now I've added a full tuneup, Hughes airgap, PaceSetter headers, new tires, and a rebuilt transmission. Now I'm getting about 15 and increasing; but the computer hardly has enough time to learn because I keep doing more stuff to it. I wonder how high it'll get..

i used to average 13 after headers, 14x3 and dropping the muffler with 255/70/17 tires.
when i first got the truck with 285/70/17 tires, stock air box, a drop in k&n, stock manifolds, and a flowmaster muffler i was getting 14-15.
now with 285/70/17 tires, headers, magnaflow cat, no muffler, stock air box and the same old 3.55 gears i'm only getting about 9mpg. its a pig and i can't figure out why, i doubt its the tires though.

^You're a cheater in the fact that you are a light weight dakota posting in the RAM sections.
Me personally, I see between 12.9-16.3. 13-14 is the average though.
Main things I did in mods for the MPGs was:
K&N drop in filter
New cap and rotor
8.5mm plug wires
New plugs
New Fuel pump and filter
Best thing by far that I've seen is choosing where you get gas. What works for one person might not work for another. It took me almost a year to find a brand of gas that my truck likes. Just play around with it and stay away from those discount stores like Caseys, Murphy USA, and others like it.
Never forget either, usually all states will change their blend of gas from Winter to Summer. Usually the Winter blend wont usually produce as good of mileage as the other blend.
