Default 5.2 superchip/power mods

So im on this quest to get some power out of my slow truck (98 5.2L), so far i have just a CAI from AFE which helped a lot, next im doing single 3 inch into a flowmaster 40 and dual 2.5s out, TB spacer and that TB trim where you remove the walls surrounding the butterfly valves to free up the air a bit more (anyone heard anything bad about doing that?) so then i want to do a tuner, and i think most ppl agree that for around 250 bux a superchip is the best you can buy, but which one would you go with? also, if you load a 91-93 performance tune into the truck do you have to run that octane? what if you use regular grade?
thanks
-Jake

Forget the TB spacer, they are worthless. Superchips is probably ok, but there are far better tuners out there, namely a custom B&G or the SCT. Do a search on them to learn more. Lastly, you should consider some 1.7 ratio Harland Sharp rockers to replace you stock rockers. Again, a search will tell you all you need to know. They are a great mod on the 5.2.

Don't forget, you can always get some real performance by doing a cam and some of the more traditional stuff. Oh, and almost forgot to mention the other best thing for performance - gears

Welcome to the forums. Tons of people are seeking the same thing as you and it has been covered multiple times. Try using the search button up in the right.

I would personally just get a fastman throttle body as many here on this forum love it. Maybe a poormans throttle body... Search that too and you will find loads of info... Same with superchips and all that junk... You need to search plenum gasket while your at it.
