So children, I had a funny yesterday.
I was going down I-15 and was doing 70 in the far right lane. There was an on ramp coming onto the freeway, and in front of the onramp is about 1500 yards of open lane for merging in.
A Mazda Miata doing less than 25 mph crossed not only one, but TWO solid white lines, and out in front of me.
I saw him do this about 175 yards ahead of me, and I stood on the brakes.
I came within 15 feet of the back of him, but that's not the funny part.
I went back later to measure the skid marks.
I drove by them today with a stop watch, and going 50mph the marks were 4 seconds long.
I did the math, and that calculates out to 294 feet. Factor in my lag pressing the button on the watch, I'm going to call it 300 feet.

So boys and girls, short of getting wider tires, what can I do to make my land yacht slow down faster?
