Default I bought a lemon =(

It would seem, that everytime I start my truck, something breaks... This time the driver side axle for my front diff..

My u-joint end caps fell out, creating a cascading failure..

I just welded it back together, (the junkyards didnt have any 4x4 dodge 1500s), whats the worst that could happen.

Dana 60 time right?

How many miles are on your truck?

You bought a truck that is almost 14 years old, has probably passed owners a couple of times, and who knows how they treated or maintained it. You didnt buy a lemon, you bought a used truck. Simple as that.

That thing is going to break. Soon. Anyone worth their salt know's that you don't weld cast iron without a variety of specialized equipment. Things I would venture to guess you don't possess. Just buy a new joint.

come on guys, USED doesn't mean JUNK, there are some vehicles that are just that: lemons. My wife's Blazer is a good example, excellent shape but its a money pit......

knock on wood, but my used 12 year old truck is far from junk, no major issues thus far

There's nothing wrong with used vehicles. Minus what is wrong with them of course.
