Take it easy. I hope the Ford treats you better then the Dodge did. My ol' man has a '91 F250 super cab and it has 350k miles on it. Stock engine and rebuilt tranny. He just had the stock tranny rebuilt at 340K miles and he beats the hell out of it...Congrats on the 6 month old. Pretty soon you'll be turning wrench's with him.

 

I think your decieved by your new truck Ive raced my friends 04 ford with the 5.4 on a dragstrip and I win every time all I have is intake and exhaust, he has just exhaust
But yes gas mileage is way better and so is the room just went on a trip in his truck and man is that thing comfy

 

I think the last thing he cares about is haulin' a$$ since his 6 month old was the main reason for him selling his Dodge.

 

He said his new truck would run circles around his old one just letting him know that there not any faster and you got to have priorities and it seems his are right.

uhh My dad has an 05 f150ext cab with the 5.4 and I drive it often because he had eye surgery and it has waaay more torgue pickup than my 360 powered ram...and I do have 4.56 gears....plus the mpg is great we take it hunting on the PA/NY border every years and its gets better mpg than his old straight 6 86 f150 did... the 5.4 may only have 260hp but the Dodge 5.9 only had 245 so how does that make the ford engine not superior? esp with better gas mileage.... I know we all love our Dodges (most of the time except when we are here complaining about issues) but lets not be so blind by it that we come across like children to others here....the reality is fords didnt get to be the #1 selling american truck because it was crap....they make good trucks...all the the big three are good trucks...newer the truck the better it is on power vs gas mpg....some people dont mind the payments...if you really got it, spend it....It helps the economy and helps the rest of us out....
Now the thing I hate about the ford f 150 is they are no longer an american truck at all...(98 percent robotically built in Argentina now...) sad that Toyota can employ Americans and build all their trucks here but ford cant.despite them being a huge seller??.. I hope they all go bankrupt..the American people should have never offered bailouts to a company thats migrating all its jobs/manufacturing out of America like chevy and ford...its silly, since we are negatively impacting all the american jobs at the plants that were growing in the us from companies headquartered overseas...who cares about stock options? Have you made any money off GM or ford stock?....
sorry I'm rambling again...

Truth is when it come to the truck I would but a ford truck if the deal was right anyday though I love the styling of my dodge more...even though to the rest of the world outside of the dodge owner community they are regarded as having less than steller reliability (hell even here there are those that will tell it like it is)....I have never gotten so much flack for any car or truck in my life as I have with my dodge....there must be a reason for that too?
oh yeah I bought my dodge from a guy that replaced it with a chevy because of his wife and daughters so...

 

Just cause u got a ford dont mean you cant stay, your knowlage is what we need
