Last spring, I raced a 2008 Ford F150. He even had the jump on me a little, and I caught up and passed him. I didn't blow his doors off, but I certainly beat him and could have kept going, but I reached 10 MPH over the speed limit and that's my personal limit. His was the King Ranch with the 5.4L V8. And that was before my SCT and with the Superchips off, therefore "death flashed".
Not saying that the Ford is a bad looking truck, or that the 5.4L V8 is a bad motor. Just saying that I don't think you guys give our engines enough credit. You can't expect a truck thats been jacked up with larger off-road style tires to have the torque and get-up and go of a stocker. Jack that Ford up the same height as your previous Dodge, put off-road tires on it, and then lets see if it still has that torque/speed you felt.
Good luck to you man, glad you found a truck that works for you, even if it is a blue oval.
