hey guys just 1 question, i have the superchips 3815 for my 2000 ram, and i told my cousin who has a 98 what a diffrence it made, what do i have too do to take it off mine to try on his too see if he likes it ...and take it back off when hes done to put it back on mine . is this a bad idea ??

we are also looking for a 14x3 intake for him some guys say i can find it at advance auto parts anything i have to look for ??

Return your truck to stock tune. Let him try it. Then return his to stock tune and reinstall on yours.


The aircleaners can be had anywhere, you might need the plastic spacer kit to clear the throttle linkage.

the mr. gasket at advance clears the throttle cables/vac lines and its only about 27$.
i think the part # is 1480.

so when you set it back to stock it takes off the vin on it ??

Yes, it isn't vin locked when you set it to the stock tune.

It'll may still show your VIN # on there even after returning to stock, but it'll change as soon as it is programming another truck.

I am very confused.On the Superchips website it says I must use 3865, but you guys say 3815. Why?

3865 is the newer style tuner (design), but still offers the same tunes for 2nd gens as the older 3815.
