all of a sudden Check engine and 3 codes
Hey guys, i went out to start my truck this morning, now its cold out again and my check engine light is on. It has been out for a long time. So i plugged the computer code reader and it came up with 3 codes!
po118-engine cooleant temp sensor voltage to high
po141-02 sensor circuit heater circuit malfunction
po740-torgue converter clutch circuit malfunction
I have never had these codes now all of them at once. Could the cold be messing with my truck or could i realy have all these problems? Thanks

I had problem some what like this when my battery started going out on my truck. I would get a code every once and awhille about one of the voltage sensors. I would check the battery first if I was you and see if its going bad or just try another battery in it and see if the codes come back up.
If the battery checkout doesn't fix it, I would look for something common to all three systems. Might be a connector that carries wiring for all three that's loose. Might be the PCM.
Were you able to clear these codes? If so, did they come back all at once, one at a time, or not at all? That should guide you in the right direction.

Are you sure it wasn't 1740 and not 0740? I got code 1740, 6 months later my trucks in the shop needing a new tranny. From what I've read in various places, 0740 pretty much means your torque converter is on it's way out. Right before mine went out, it was shifting as smooth as silk. I certainly hope this won't be the case with you, but I'm just telling you what I know of.
