The electrical plugs are different anyway, easy enough to match up with the harness. IIRC, one has 2 prongs and the other has 3.

The reason the older ones had two is because one was a temp sensor for the PCM, and the other was a sending unit for the temp gauge. Later, Chrysler combined these functions into one sensor/sending unit.

Okay thank you all for the help. i like doing stuff the easy way so maybe trying to do something with the heater hose first cuz im sure i could get something where i can just plug up my new aftermarket temp gauge.. but thanks again for all the help
