Default 97 Ram ClubCab Shift Problem

I have to take my foot off the gas when the trans wants to shift when going between 44 - 50 kmph. As soon as I remove my foot the truck will shift. This is under normal accel... However, if i use a heavy foot, it will shift through all gears as normal and smooth. Any ideas?

lol, yea,I grabbed that hashhu title way back when they were handing out free gmail invites when gmail was first starting out. I miss the place, was a good forum.

Any way to find out if is one or the other, or just start replacing? Tough job? Expensive ?

if you take it to an auto parts store and throw it on a code reader it may give you a 1741 code like mine did to help pinpoint but you should replace both at the same time...about 100 bucks if you order them online plus filter and about 5 quarts of fluid... $200 for everything at dealership takes and hour to 1 1/2 hr to do with manual as guide found here if you search "merry christmas"

Thanks for the heads up on the "merry christmas" manual...WOW!!!

Last question, would a code be stored even if the CE light is not on?
