I am going to get another ECU for my truck and need to know if it has to come from the exact same truck or not?

It will work but, you still are going to want to get it flashed by the dealer for mileage and vin# purposes for when/if you sell it.

I would try to get one for the exact same model year, transmission type, and engine size to eliminate any possible chance of incompatibilities.

^^^That is what I was thinking. I think I want to send this one out to have it flashed by that company that does tuning (BD Tuning???). Anyone know what place I'm talking about?

I was gonna go with those guys but they want $350 for you to send them your PCM and flash it and send it back. They want $650 if they send you a tuner. So I went with Hemifever and got his custom tune. It is $275 shipped and includes a tuner so I can take the tune out whenever I want. I opted for the $375 option which is an even more custom tune on a tuner with unlimited reflashes (if I upgrade the motor more or go down in fuel octane) and $50 if I ever change vehicles and need a custom tune for that. I also liked my truck is never down and I don't have to buy a backup PCM
I have heard awsome things about B&G as well so please don't think I am trashing them just thought Hemi was a better option, whichever you do I am sure will be good.
