Front wheels of 4 wheel drive not working
I was trying to get my heater to working on my 1994 truck the other day.I was working on it outside and it was very cold, under 20 degrees. My point is that a few of the vacuum hoses broke off on me, because of the cold weather.I tried to pay attention to how they went and I bought some small rubber tubbing and reconnected them.( I even drew a diagram, because my memory is often not the best.) I looked at my dad's 1995 Ram 4 X 4 and everything appears to be correct.
I noticed that there is a line that goes into the fire wall from the engine. That may have been pulled lose in the process too.I am hoping that it is just routed to the indicator light, because that is not working as well.( the 4 wheel drive indicator).
I fixed my heater, but my 4 wheel drive is not working.I don't have to worry about being cold now, but I can't go anywhere in the snow. So, I am just going back in the house.Murphy's Law is the story of my life.
If anyone could help, I sure would appreciate it.
Thanks

One of those vacuum lines goes down the back of the motor to the transfer case,I think it's a gray one that T's off the ones you were working on. Make sure it is connected. http://www.dodgeram.org/tech/repair/..._engagment.htm
sounds like your front axle is not locking in. That would explain why the front wheels don't spin AND why your 4WD light isn't on. I know of a few people around here who had or are having problems going into 4x4. The front end is locked in with vacuum, and IF you didn't hook up a line wrong, then I'd bet your problem is in the actuator on the front axle. Sometimes they freeze up, mine likes to stay engaged once in a while even though the tcase is in 2hi.
