20 or 12 Qt. cooling system ?

20 or 12 Qt. cooling system ?

I have a 1997 Ram 1500 w/ 360 and auto 4x4.

Every book I've seen states 20 qt. cooling system.

However, when I did a flush and refill, with new hoses, it was like a 12 qt. size system. I used only 7 qt of antifreeze to make it a bout a 60% mix.

What is up with this?
