Default Tint on tail lights

How many coats of VHT Nite Shade should I put on my tail lights just enough to smoke them?

3 or 4 coats, just make sure to sand them down with 1000 grit before u do it otherwise it'll flake.

clean it with some isopropyl alcohol to clean it too, that opens the pores in the plastic up so it sticks better

i'd say about 20% darker, not enough for the DOT to get pissy but enough to notice at a glance

You don't have to sand them, just clean them up real good. The Acsamples guy who did the diy didn't sand. When my roommate and I did our we didn't sand. No "flaking" as you call it on either of ours.

if the paint is laquer based you dont have to sand it, its a good idea to but you dont have to, most aerosol paint is laquer based, just clean it with alcohol and you should be ok, i would still recommend sanding it though

iv always sanded mine, did it on my durango, bmw and my eclipes. Just makes the paint stick better. Or you can just spray it an see what happens, just my opinion.

as long as you dont over do it, it's the same as doing taillight covers, accept alot cleaner and alot less ghetto looking.

Just put 3 or 4 even coats on and u will be fine
