Default K&N oil filter, worth it?

Im getting close to an oil change and im wondering if a K&N oil filter is really worth it, ive used fram on everything i own except on my scout i use Bosch. I want to try somthing else, my oil gets black and dirty around 1500 miles, it looks like the oil in my diesel tractor when i change it. Im leaning towards a Bosch but im on the fence

its not worth it.
just get a regular filter - wix or bosch or other. a lot of people criticize fram, but i've used a million of them.

iv got a k&n on both my ram and my wife's mountianeer and to be honest i dont see any performance advantage but it's saved me enough money to pay for them self's over the time i'v had them i havent bought a new airfilter through the tuneup's iv done, just wash it out oil it up and put it back in.

but like i said dont expect to get any performance outta it, it's just an airfilter

Edit, forget everything i just said i misread the question.

i go with fram for my oilfilters

Misread the thread. Go with a Napa gold filter, there basically a wix filter. Great price.

Been using K&N since i got my truck, any advantage , I thought i read that it might be to restrictive, But it's getting out of hand as far as price, think i paid almost $15 bucks last oil change, time for something cheaper,I was going to look into Donaldson filters

I get the factory Mopar oil filters for my truck for about $5.50 each. Can't go wrong with the filter designed by Dodge.

^ I'm sure you know, but again: MOPAR contracts those out to the cheapest bidder. Your filter might be Wix one month and Fram the next. It's just a matter of chance.
