Don't do that.
U-joints are hardened steel and it will dull the sawzall blade as soon as you hit it.
How do I know you ask? I tried it.
I just wanted to break in my new sawzall that I got for christmas.
Then I used the angle grinder and it only took a couple minutes before I got the center of the u-joint out and a couple smacks with a hammer later, out came the caps.

im going to tell you how i did my u-joints....i brought them to a machine shop, and they charged me 30 bucks to do both.....i tried for hours to get my u-joints to budge and couldnt...so i spent 30 bucks, had them done in less than 2 hours, and were ready to go...saved a big headache.......but i didnt have time to deal with that for i was racing against time and was doing much more than just u-joints

I just beat the heck out of mine with a rod. I used an anvil which had a hole in the front the size of the cap. And then had a friend hold it and I beat the heck out of it. Also used some nice penetrating/lubricating fluid on them. Took about 10-15 minutes for one side. It was fun.

I torched the cross out of mine with an O/A torch and then heated the caps and they came out with a few hammer hits. Took me like 15 minutes..

I did mine this weekend, the ball joint press from autozone made it a snap.
