Acually, cross rotating is a very good idea. It lets the tires wear evenly because switching sides will wear one edge, and the other edge. It can be a PITA, but if you have 4 jackstands, it can be done eaisly.

The absolute best way is to cross rotate the tires and include spare in it. That way the spare doesnt get dry-rotted from sitting underneath the bed for 10+ years. And you get more miles out of the set because you are including another tire in the mix, eventually paying for the 5th tire that you have to replace, because you dont replace the set as much.

i think ur confused purple....cross rotating doesn't wear one edge then wear the other edge...i'm not even exactly sure what you mean by that....each tire has an inside shoulder and an outside shoulder, and the inside shoulder, no matter how it's rotated will still be the inside shoulder and same with the outside shoulder, and the center tread is still going to stay in the center....doesn't matter if you rotate clockwise, counterclockwise, shake them three times then dribble them down the street, as long as your switching the axle the tires are on it helps the tire because it changes the angle that the tire is sitting on the ground. Changes the camber caster and toe angle the tire is sitting at, allowing it a fresh feel for the road and a different way to wear. cross rotation is not necessary
