That Magnaflow looks pretty good. Why not get a 2 into 1, and let the cat essentially be the Y pipe.

That would require modification of his exhaust tubing, bending and what not. A new 3" converter would simply fit into the same space he has now, as that is what his current converter is, a single in/single out 3" unit. All that is needed is a welder.
