Default OD button problem?

Ok, so I got a 94 1500 5.9ltr and yesterday went for a drive and the over drive button stopped working(no orange light) came on when I pressed it.
Also the trucks seemed to be out of od as the revs were up when I was driving it. Now weird thing was once I stopped the truck for 10 mins it started working again??? Any ideas what to look at??

niko.

The light only comes on when you turn the O/D off. The light is always off when your O/D is engaged.
