flowmasters and exhaust tuning on 5.9
recently inquired about getting a flowmaster on my truck and was told by the tech that the dodge(360) can be finicky when going to after market mufflers and some have problems because the engine is tuned to the oem exhaust.anyone ever hear of or experience ant kind of issues after installs.
I also was under the impression that flowmaster or any other manufacterer had specific applications that are tailored to the engine it was being attached to.

ive got a 96 2500 with a 5.9 n heres what i did. edelbrock headers, down into a flowmaster y pipe exiting 3" into a catco cat from summit n a glass pack. i put the o2 sensor in the Y pipe and have a Casper electronics o2 sim on the post cat connector. runs great. so i dont see why a flowmaster exaust would mess anything up. anyone else hear about that or know of anything.
I have an emco single in dual out stainless on my 360. After I put it on it seemed like it ran better. Well it could breathe better. I also got a little bit better mpg and just a little more HP. So as far as the 360 being finicky I had no problems. I did notice when the guy took my factory exghaust off that it was huge! I had never seen one that big, especially compared to the one he put on.
it's crap! I have the gibson shorties, stock y-pipe and a carsound cat and a flowmaster dual out (2.25" reduced to keep low end) and my truck ran better with that in there... if mods didnt work, who would buy them? do what you want to your truck and pffft the guy who told you otherwise...
