Default 4x4 bind in reverse

ok its snowing right now, and we got abot8 inches so far. well i just got back from dropping a friend off at home, an i was backng into my spot and when my wheels were turned. the motor would rev up, and it wouldnt move, then it "unlocks" it feels and then "locks" up again, and it wont move when it locks up.

I was parking in the driveway, and it hasnt been plowed, and its real heavy sticky snow. It only did this when 4x4 was engaged, and going in reverse with wheel turned. it doesnt do it at any other time. It also didnt do it to me earlier today when i hit a little off road trail. It just started doing it when i got home to park it.

My only guess could be the u-joints binding up. Anyone agree with this? or do you think because te snow is deep, heavy and sticky, it was just the snow causing it?

Sounds like the binding was just because of the low speed turn. I think you're okay, but you can check for play just in case.

it sucks because i cnt check for play due to the snow right now, and its supposed to snow up until about noon tomorrow. so i bet i wont e able to check it tomorrow either, and i need the truck right in the early a.m. it goes fine forward when wheels are turned, just in reverse when wheels are turned. going back straight its fine.

Yep, that sounds like normal. Not something you want to get it to do, but it'll happen under slow turning conditions.

Yeah, its normal. Try putting it in low range then do a turn. Impossible!

well i went to go bring my fiancee to work, and i packed down a little path before i left (we dont have someone to plow our driveway.)

When i went to go park it, it wasnt binding at all. Which leads me to believe it was the combo of the thick snow and slow wheel rotoation.i went back and forth trying to get it to bind, and it wouldnt.

So i guess all is well. Thanks for the replys
