Default tranny won't go into drive

95 V10 3500 4x4, put a jasper trany in it a yr ago, parked it to grab some coffee b4 work, jumped back in 5 minutes later and trany won't shift into drive. I have R,N, but physically can't shift into drive... like linkage is hitting something. Ideas?

Set the park brake and disconect the linkage at the trans. And try moving the shifter inside the truck. Ifit moves, then the problem is inside the trans. Could be a the lever connected to the valve body, that may have broken off.

why does this stuff always happen when there is snow in the drive? Thanks for your help... seems to be internal to the trany... thank God for warranties.
