Yes I have the dreaded split in the edge of the drivers seat. Anyone have a source for new covers. Not just aftermarket seat covers, but actual new replacement seat fabrics.

Leatherseats.com

Sometimes you can even find new Mopar ones on ebay.

Purpe is right, leatherseats.com is the best readymade covers out there. If the rip is in the seam and the rest of the fabric is serviceable why not just repair it? the seatcovers are easy to remove, just take them off, turn them inside out and sew up with some heavy duty thread. I used 4lb fishing line when I did mine last year. Saved myself $500......

Depending on where it is, you could do what I did. Mine was on the side, so I swapped the bottom seat cushions from one side to the other. Can't see the tear anymore. Four bolts hold on each cushion.

Heres my post from another thread about this.

The only issue was that the passenger seat (moved to drivers side) did feel a little higher on the left side. I think it's because that side was pressed aginst the center seat, causing the foam to be compressed differently than the door side.

It has gotten better now (like 1 month later ) from sitting on it.

heres the post with pics;

I went ahead and gave this a try today.

I was a little nervous, as I didn't know what was going on with the heated seat. But its just 2 plugs on each seat.

It was definetly a little harder with the power seats to get the seat bottoms lined up with the holes, because the mounts pivot.

The only issue I had, was that the plug for the heated seat backs were on opposite sides after the switch.

If you pulled the wires a little, they would connect, but its a little tight for my liking, also if you put the seat back forward, it could pull the wires loose.

I just spliced in a few xtra inches of wire to solve this.

And here is the seat the way it should look.

For me it solves 2 problems the leaning seat and the wear marks on the side, which was the worst looking thing on the truck, and it's now hidden.

Yep, that's pretty much how mine went, but I was able to stretch the cords enough to not need lengthening.
