Default Truck I might be looking

Ok, guys I found a 1998 Dodge 1500 ext cab. short wheel. 318. 5.2L. But the tranny needs some work and the rear end is built but i might be able to get a deal on it. So what i want to know is what rear axles will work with it?

Anything if your good at fabbing. Direct bolt it - Chrlsyer 9.25 from a ram truck with the same gear ratio. Its the same axle thats in there.

Chrysler 9.25 rear end. Came in Dodge Rams. Any gear ratios will work. Preferably you would want to get the axle from a truck that has 3.92 or 4.10 gears.

The ratio will most likely be 3.55. Is it a 4x4? If not then it doesn't matter. Like I said the put the same type of axle thats in there back in. It is a Chrylser 9.25.

By the way don't pay much more than $500 if it has a few miles on it. Being a 2wd with that much work it isn't worth squat.
