are the 1.7's really worth 15-20 hp?? thats amazing if true. if so i should do that while im in there doing the plenum fix right? and then later probably do a tb because the gain from that would be minimal i assume. also im tryin to find out if i can get a true dual exhaust with flowmaster 40's and still smog it in california.

There should be one sticker on the computer. The superchips will take care of deathflash.

According to the threads on here the RR's are worth the 15-20hp. I have them and did not feel a 20 hp gain. With tuning I could see 20 hp, with out tuning I doubt it. If I ever get my truck on the dyno at school I will be able to see if that is close.

Doing the RR's and fixing the plenum don't really correllate (spelling).

from what I have come to understand (and it makes sense) the 1.7 rr's exaggerate the cam lobes influence on the valve train much like what a higher performance cam would do without getting that deep into the motor. plus you get the benefit of the roller bearings. seems like a great mod to me. I also have heard that a single exhaust in 3 in. is better for performance gains than a duel exhaust.

He is correct. Unfortunatly the computers on these dodges restrict the performance a lot.

I will admit that the 1.7 RR's where the biggest performance gain i noticed other than the 5.9L swap and plenum fix.

If it has the death flash it should have a sticker that says "Authorized Software Update"

The aftermarket intakes replace the stock intake manifold so there is no plenum issue anymore. The intakes are expensive though like $500+.

A new plenum kit is around $130 total.
A new intake manifold is around $400 to $600.
