wonder if anyone has any ideas for me i have a 96 ram 1500 4x4 short bed ext cab with a 5.2 and auto trans the engine i was told is out of a 01 and was put in the truck before i got it it origanaly had the 5.9 in it it has 350 gears and 33/12.50/15s on it and flowmaster muffler with i believe 2and 1/2 inch pipe my trouble is the truck is gutless to the point it will loose 10 mph on small hills that it should never loose speed on as well as the truck is just slugish all around with very weak acceleration i have replaced plugs wires cap and air filter with no inprovement also im not sure of the exact mpg im getting but it cant be more then 7 or 8 on the high way i am wondering if when they replaced the engine if they used the 5.9 computer would this cause my probem other then the lack of power and milage it runs great any help or advise would be gratley appreciated thanks

Not bashing on you at all, just saying 98% of the questions you have can be answered by searching at the top of the forum

 

OK, for one, you need to work on your posting skills. Aside from the poor grammar and spelling, a period once in awhile would help the readability. What are "350 gears?" The '96 and '01 engines are very different and it is likely whomever did the swap did not do it correctly. I'd be looking into just what was done and how and which computer was used as it may not be properly setup for that engine.
