Why not just put $4k into yours and that way you know what works and what doesn't?
That truck looks good. But since he just changed all the fluid you don't know what that fluid looked like with miles on it. $6500 wouldn't be too bad as long as you don't have to put a new tranny in it in a few thousand miles.

id say no more han 5K....in todays world, alot of people would take 5K if the cash was in front of them.
IMO it will need tranny within 15K....so figure thats about 2400 for a good rebuild (going off what mine cos)
Also the regearing, which will be bout 1200 bucks, so right there its 8600 bucks if you got it for 5K, and that money will be spnt within 6 months probably....id just jack up the truck you have or find another one that was done right.
