I recently purchased a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9L from my father and am having a problem with it. The rear 2 plugs on the passenger side become oil fouled about every 1000-1,500 miles. It uses about a quart of oil every tank and a half of gas. There's no visible oil leaks and no exhaust smoke. If i dont run 93 octane it really pings under acceleration or over 3,000 rpms. After reading other posts on websites its leading me to believe it might be the plenum but I wanted to get some of your opinions on here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
+3 welcome to DF, where if it says "Dodge" anywhere on the truck, you have a plenum leak. Also figure in with the plenum repair, new O2 sensors, as well as a complete tune up. Even if you just changed or replaced those items.
