Oxidized Paint question.
Well... As with most other black rams, my roof is oxidizing beyond belief. Also my bedrails, top of tailgate, and now the hood on driver's side near windshield. What's the easiest way to repaint... Anyway to do it on the cheap? or will I have to take it in to the paintshop?
^ +1 just make sure you fallow the 6 to 8 inch rule and dont spray the **** outta it an inch away and let it run, clearcoat dries alot quicker than paint and it's not as easy to sand down if you make a mistake
Craig, the hood is an easy fix.
1. remove hood
2. sand down to primer (or metal)
3. prime
4. shoot base
5. shoot clear
I did my hood several months ago and it took 1 solid day. Pics are here... http://my.att.net/p/s/community.dll?...pid=404015&ck=

if you are thrifty (who isnt nowadays?) go to lowes or some were like that and get some glossy rustolem spray paint scuff up the paint really good with a grey scotchbright or wet 400 grit sandpaper and go to town spraying several light coats, it prolly wont last as long as a good repaint but it could save you $1-2000
