Making my own plenum plate
By that same token, the Haynes Manual says to lift the engine with hoist in order to take the oil pan off, but we all know that that's not necessary. Seriously, chill out. On all your other post you seem like a pretty cool guy. Purple is a pretty cool guy himself. Sometimes in order to learn something, you need to actually do it and experience it. That's what Purple's doing. Either way, if it works or not (grade 8 bolts) he'll tell us.

Sounds like we have another viper on our hands not gonna point fingers......... (Cough...... lblair04....) like they said chill out man we r here to help each other not to call names and be a punk for someone tryin somthing new and before u started this u should have read the whole thread in depth.
I am chillin out. I will keep my thoughts to myself I guess. Just figured I'd help him out, but I will refrain from that from now on. I do still think its ****ty to call someones product ****ty just cause they said some words that hurt your feelings. Apparently thats ok around here, my bad
Alright Purpl, I will man up and appologize for personally attacking you on here. I just got Hughes products and thought they were good, so it kind of pissed me off to see you badmouth them when you didnt get any products. If they treated you like ****, maybe say that next time, instead of ******* their products as a whole?
As for making your plenum plate, I guess if no one tries it, we will never know if it works, so go for it. If ya mess up, ya mess up. Guess I never learned my mechanical stuff without messing a few things up first.
Took the truck for a drive, and beat the **** out of the gas pedal...my SCT made me cheer up, along with this nice fat dip I have in (wife wont let me dip in the house when she's awake).
As for the other members, sorry for being a dick. No, im not a bypolar kid or anything...just needed to step away and think bout it, haha. My appologies...wont happen again.

Not starting yet another arguement...but wouldnt that make their customer service/relations garbage? I admit...if I walk into a store and get bad customer service, I put the stuff back on the shelf and walk out, even if their product is the same exact thing and cheaper, I will go elsewhere and spend more.
As for laughing at the boy at the trade show....... It sure sounds like you are reading way too much into a situation. Someone just walked up to you, started laughing, and then walked away???? Sounds pretty strange. Any chance you misunderstood the situation or, that we were laughing at something else? If you thought we were laughing at you, or if we were....I apologize.
We do not spend all of the time and money and work weekends just to go to a trade show and offend our customers. We are nothing without our customers... we know that. That is why we go to trade show. That is why we offer discounts at trade shows. That is why we usually offer free tech seminars at trade shows. That is why we work through lunches and stay late to be sure and answer the questions of everyone in our booth.
Getting to meet people face to face is the best part of going to the shows. It is much better than just talking on a phone. You can put a face with a name and sometimes actually start a friendship.
As far as our tech support and customer service when you call here.... we feel it is the best in the industry. People who have dealt with some of our competitors tell us every day how nice it is to talk to someone who actually knows the products. We are not order takers. We actually know our products and can help you choose parts and install them. There is always a chance you could get the wrong guy on the wrong day..we are human...sorry. If any of you ever have any trouble with our company, why don't you try e-mailing or calling me and see if I can fix it. Usually posting a note on a forum won't get much done. It is fun for the chatters sitting in their underwear in their mom's basement. But it isn't very productive.
As far as making your own parts. I started out racing stock cars when I was 17. I had to make tons of my own parts because I couldn't afford to buy them. I think you can learn a lot by doing things yourself. Even if it costs more, sometimes the education is worth it. Other times it can actually save you money as long as you have some time to kill. Most things are easy...if you know how to do it and have the tools. (like brain surgery for instance, looks easy on TV, I think I could do that with a hacksaw and a dremel tool). If you don't know how or don't have the tools, it can be a challenge.
Anyway, thats my two cents worth.
I hope you all have a great weekend!
Kevin
