Default Front hubs

I went wheeling, came down hard, and now when I put it in 4wd the hubs don't lock. I know it's pretty easy to tear the vacuum line, I was wondering how you check it for leaks. I was thinking about getting one of those cable hub locker things.

I would start by making sure that the adjuster on the linkage for the shifter was still where it should be. You should be able to see a wear mark if it moved.

You can see it hanging on the left side of this picture

This is on a gasser, but yours should be similar.

That controls the hubs? I'll check. It goes into low, but since the hubs don't lock it's 2low...

That controls whether or not the 4x4 will engage all the way. You're probably on the right track in wanting to check the vacuum on the cad, but it wouldn't hurt to make sure the linkage hasn't shifted at all. Hopefully you didn't damage the vacuum motor inside the cad.

Wow, thanks. I had no idea how the hubs locked. Cool. I have a bunch of other things to fix before I can even drive my truck, so I can't mess with the CAD yet.
