thanks for the help all. we figured it out. we bought a new piece n took valve body down n put piece back up n it is running just fine. the piece is called the band anchor n seems it likes to fall out often. we had just put another motor in it so maybe that made it fall but it running great now. shifts into every gear.

 

Sounds like it was the front band anchor did you adjust the band correctly? If not you could burn the band up, then it will be time to rebuild.
