That is how mine was one covering another and it says Authorised Software Update.

The death flash, if memory serves, was released before 2001. Therefore, wouldn't it fit that DC programmed PCMs from the factory with it in 2000 and/or 2001?

yeah, but they were only flashed if they needed it, correct? now i could see if there was a recall for all rams to be flashed, then doing it on 01s from the factory
