Default fifth wheel camper and a short box?

sooo, im toying around with the idea of getting a fifth wheel camper. Would i have the clearance? i measured my box, it was either 6'3'' or 6'4''. figuring on the mounting the plate so the ball would be about 2'' forward of the axle. anybody with experience? ill probably head to a camper sales place to see within the next few days

It'll fit. Couple of my friends tow campers with their short box F-250s.

The only issue I see is the amount of lift you are running.

lift wont matter, my friends f250 truck bed is only about 3 inches lower. plus you can consider that when it is weighted down and squatting.

My 1996 2500 V8 club cab (short bed) came with a fifth wheel setup in the bed from the previous owner. Said he towed a horse trailer.

I think whether or not it fits depends on the trailer you get.

yup it'll fit. My dad bought his 99 QCSB as a package deal with a 5th wheel travel trailer

edit:

I think whether or not it fits depends on the trailer you get.
this is probably true, I imagine you could get different styles, etc., I don't know anything about them really

Like the other's said it should fit.
BUT
Will the 1500 suspension handle what you want it to?
Did it come equipped with the camper suspension package?

Allot depends on trailer your towing, a friend of mine has two horse trailers and the back cab corners of their chevy are crushed in because one trailer works with out hitting and they found out the other one didnt but it was too late.
