are you going to wait for your motor to throw a rod before you change the oil? same thing, it had a problem at one time and if some preventive maintenance is not done, the problem will come back and probably cost you more...

Also, you got a deal on it, use the $ you saved to do all of the maintenance that it needs now. tune up, trany flush, oil change and I'd even do the diff oil.
