Transmission problem #490
Alright so here's a new one. 3rd transmission this month and when I shut the truck off completely theres a buzzing or a moaning type sound that seems to be coming from the transmission for about 20 seconds before stopping... any ideas?
they're jasper tranny's so technically it's a rebuild but they have new T/C's everytime. I can't stand this, yea the warranty is great, the new trans is here in a day everytime, but getting a damned rental every other week is killing me.

Hey, I was going to post about that, Not to thread jack but will it hurt to let it go for a little while? Im half way scared to change my trans fluid. Afraid it will start slipping.

It almost does sound electrical, but you can hear some fluid noise to it... I didn't hear it when i drove home. Called jasper, they said it sounded like a hydraulic issue and that they'd pay to have a field repair done on it... I don't know if i want to mess with it if it's not making the noise.... It does have a buzz and clatter in reverse though so I think it needs some kind of attention.
That TSB says it needs a new "Valve, Steel Transmission Regulator" I wonder if a busted valve would cause that sizzling, like maybe a pressure leak.
another quick question I had was, when checking the fluid in neutral.. is there supposed to be an abundance of fluid, like the dipstick soaked with trans oil fully covering up to the line or will it look like oil was flowing up to the line... it seems like theres oil on the stick up to the line but it's kinda hard to tell, it's not soaked like an oil dipstick would be. I figured it was like that because of oil flow in neutral.
