IAC question

Default IAC question

hey i need some help here. this is not on a dodge its on a ford but it should work the same. i replace my IAC and now it works great but make a loud *** air sucking noise and vibration. has anyone ever come across this problem?

That means your IAC is working.

ok but its a vibration in the gas pedal and its obnoxiously loud. i have never heard anything like that before.

when you give it some gas it gets quiet.

when you give it gas the throttle plate opens which bypasses the IAC.

you probably have the air filter loose or missing gasket or on wrong or something thats letting all that sound out.

Did you break of rupture your gasket on the throttle body?

no i just took the 2 screws out holding on the IAC and swapped them out and its started doing that.

was there an o-ring on the old one, and did you put o-ring on the new one ?

Eh the Orings usually come off with the old one and the new one comes with a replacement because they dont want you to reuse the old one. Run the engine an unplug the IAC and see if the idle start changing, they might have given you a defective one.
