Ok so lately my transmission is been acting up. its fine just driving normal but if i drive in alot of stop and go traffic the torque convertor will not lock up at all like its supposed to and i drive up a mountain every day and it kills my power. when i get home i can cut it off for like 20 mins and its fine.

Pressing on the brake pedal will unlock the torque converter.

Here is an easy fix, turn the Overdrive OFF.

thats with the overdrive off. usually it will just pull along up the mountain fine. but some days it struggles going 55 or 60 and the trans temp gets up about 190 F its normally 140 F

just throwing this out there, but it could be the torque converter clutch solenoid thats going bad. Are you getting any codes?
