Default LD 2500 Wheel Bearings in a 1500

Will 8-lug light duty (7500# GVW) wheel bearings fit a 1500? They are both Dana 44's but is the nuckle differnet. The Dana 44 I have has 3 bolts holding the wheel bearing in, do the LD 2500 wheel bearings also have 3 bolts. The pictures on autoparts websites show the 3 bolt pattern but those pics usually are not accurate. Are the stub axles the same?

I tried searching but could not find anything.

i don't know, but are you just looking to change wheels, or are you wanting a heavier duty bearing.

if they fit in the knuckle, and have the same spline, i'd think they would be the same bearing with just a different outer lug pattern in the hub.

have you got a part number ?

I was looking to swap my 9.25 for something heavier maybe a Dana 60 or a Dana 70. If I did that I would wouldn't want a 5 lug front and an 8 lug rear. I was just kicking it around.

i'm not finding a 2500LD. i find 2500 GAS 5.9, 2500 V10, 2500 CTD 5.9
i think all those have a dana 60, which is different from dana 44.

On the dana 44, National is nice enough to list the dimensions on rockauto...

The light duty 2500 was only made from 94-97 with the 5.2 and 5.9 V8's. Here is the bearing from Rockauto. I think it will work.

TIMKEN Part # HA597851
4WD; 7500 G.V.W.; Exc. Rotor; Front
$169.89$0.00$169.89

This is a nice thought. But after buying the bearing, rotors. wheels and tires,
I would opt for the hole 2500 front axle for a little more $$$

Around here the Dana 60 Dana 70 complete with wheels go's for 900.00

Just my thoughts

I see what you are saying. Like I said I was just kicking the idea around. I just saw that I have a bad pinion seal leak so i was thinking of just swapping the 9.25 out for something a little stronger and I wanted the front and rear to match.

I have an 8,800 GVWR 2500 and it looks nothing like that. Not sure if the 7,500's are different. I'd go look around a junkyard/ask them.

Your 2500 HD (5.9L V8?) has Dana 60's front and rear. The Light Duty 2500 has an 8 lug Dana 44 front and an 8-lug 9.25 in the rear.

Oh, ok. Wasn't sure, just thought I would throw that out there.
