I just purchased a 2000 Ram SLT with the off road package. It has the overhead console with the compass and temp display, the lighted visors, pwr locks, and pwr windows, the works. BUT it didnt come with keyless entry fobs. Shouldn't it have keyless entry?

I can order the key fobs off ebay, but how do I program them? Thanks guys! I love having a ram back...this is number 5...

Not necessarily. Keyless entry was an option that required several other options. Mine has the SLT+ Decor Group, which included keyless entry, Infinity Premium Sound, Steering Wheel Radio Controls and some other things. The sellers usually include programming instructions. Dealers charge about $50 to do it for you.

 

Not exactly. To find out if your truck originally had the keyless entry system, go to a Dodge Dealer, give them your V.I.N., and ask for the build sheet.

According to this website you had to have the Laramie SLT package, but even with that it was still an option.

i've got the same stuff you have but no keyless entry so your not alone. it used to not bother me not having it but now i see all the newer cars and trucks with it and it makes me feel old and i die a little inside. to make myself feel better i lock my doors and honk my horn at the same time

This website sells remotes, it says you can type in your vin and they can tell you if your vehicle came with keyless entry from the factory.

My 2001 has key less and remote start. I can also turn on my 4 ways with the little remote. lol
