Default Blown Plenum Again!

I just happend to look down my TB today and after only 3K miles my intake is oily. I have been getting 12 mpg highway so not good at all. I am going to assume that my plenum gasket is bad again. I used the Hughes kit with their gasket and installed it when the motor was on a stand. I guess I will use a felpro gasket next time. This is BS though. It was only 3K miles!! Any ideas on how ths failed? I used a good quality clicker torque wrench to torque the bolts. Should I use a bar type this time?

im going to be honest with you, i dont ever really pay attention to torque spec's. I just tighten the damn things untill i feel like it's snug and tight

It may be but there is quite a bit of oil and there is carbon build up in there also. I may pour some seafoam down the intake and see if it cleans it up.

if you plug the pcv valve and the vent on the other side then take the oil fill cap off and put your hand over it air should push your hand out if it sucks it in you have a intake leak. has anyone else heard of this and is it right
