Default Way too soft 2 3 shift?

Under light throttle I'm getting a long drawn out 2-3 shift. If I lay into the throttle it snaps into 3rd beautifully, also if I shift manually "even under light throttle" it snaps right into gear. Does'nt seem to be clutches slipping, but rather something causing the shift to take too long to complete. I have been told a reprogramming kit or a shift kit will fix this and that it's very common with Chrysler trannies. Any advise is appreciated! BTW, I love this site, lots of knowledgable good folks here!

Get a shift kit and set it up to full race shifts without going full manual. It hits hard but there is no lag. It may be to hard for you but it will solve your problem. I drive my truck daily and it doesn't bother me but everyone is different.

Gerehead8, what skift kit do you recommend? I'm all about some firmer shifts because I know soft shifts fry these trannies fast.

I have the TFOD-HD2 which is a combination kit that you choose what you want. I would suggest the TF-2 which is about half the price but does not have the customization (i think). Both are made by transgo.
