How do I remove the wiper arms?
Hi guys,
I need to replace my wiper motor, so I'm pretty sure I need to take these arms off so I can take the molding off so I can access the motor.
However, I don't see an easy way to get the Wiper arms off. I see a small latch that kind of moves around, but I cannot seem to slid it off. Also, the wipers not longer move, so they are stuck in the down position so I'm limited as to how far I can move the wiper arm with out the hood getting in the way.
Any suggestions?

The arms have a little clip you'll see at the base of them. Get a pair of pliers or a flathead screwdriver and put those out towards the windshield. Then you need to lift the arms up into a "maintenance" mode. All you do is raise them up like when you change a blade and let them lock in. I found they would only come off if they were locked in that mode. At that point they should just slide right off.
Then remove your black plastic cowl. The motor has 3 bolts that hold it in and of course the plug in. undo the negative battery cable. unplug the wiper motor, and remove the 3 bolts. YOu have to turn in down and twist it to get it out of the bracket but once you see how it will come right out. Installation is the reverse of removal.
When you go to put the wiperarms back on after you have the cowl on is not to bad, be sure to have them locked in maintenace mode and pin still pushed out or they won't go back on. Hope this helped!

That did help, however, It sounds like I need to completely raise the wiper arm. Since the motor does not work, it's locked in the default down position. If the hood is closed, the arm only raises a few inches. If the hood is open, I get a few more inches out of it, but I don't think that's enough to get it in maintenance mode.
I'm guessing to get in full maintenance mode, I would need to turn the wipers on for a second so they move to a different position, but since I can not do that, I'm not sure what to do here.

YOu can force them up, not to hard but you should be able to pull them up out of off mode, and start your repairs. The hood is a pain to work around and had i known ahead of time I might have had a friend come over and us take it off.
this might be too late, but you MUST pivot the arm upright first, and then slide the little clip sideways and pull the wiper base straight up off the shaft. if you don't pivot the arm up, then its in a bind, and won't come off. also, the little slide slip at the base only moves about 1/8 of an inch, so don't overdo the force.
Read the forum remarks and wanted to voice my experience. I just completed this task to remove the cowling to get to washer hoses. With engine hood fully up, using a pair of pliers, pull out on the tab down by the post while lifting up on the arm. The arm only needs to be raised to where it hits the hood to allow the tab to be pulled out. The tab only moves about 1/8 inch and will lock the arm which stops it from returning down to the windshield. Wiggle arm assembly to remove from post. Very easy.

My windshield wiper motor sensor is broken and am replacing the motor, the wiper arm won't go into maintenance mode because there isn't enough clearance for the arm either way, I assume this is because the arms won't go into "park" position. I've tried pulling the tab while the arm is half way up, but no luck, any help would be nice
try manually moving both wipers arms down into the park position. trying to move one at a time might not work as well. I don't know if this will work but worth a shot. also when I did mine I found I had to pry a little on the arm where it attached to the stud. I folded up a rag to make a pry point on the cowl and used a brake adjuster tool to pry up lightly opposite side of the direction the wiper arm is going. pull up on the arm a little at the same time making a wiggle motion between it and your pry tool.
